Do you know International Protection Marking? If not, you can learn about International Protection Marking by reading this passage.

International Protection Marking also known as Ingress Protection Rating or IP Code. The IP (Ingress Protection) rating system was drafted by the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) to classify electrical appliances according to their dust and moisture resistance. The protection level is mostly expressed by two numbers following the IP, which are used to specify the level of protection, and the larger the number, the higher the protection level.

The first number indicates the level of protection of electrical appliances against dust and intrusion of foreign objects (the foreign objects referred to here include tools, human fingers, etc., which are not allowed to touch the electrically charged parts of electrical appliances in order to avoid electric shock), and the highest level is 6. The second number indicates the degree of sealing of the electrical appliances against humidity and water immersion, and the highest level is 8.

The first digit after IP represents the dust protection class

Number

Range of protection

Description

0

No protection.

No special protection against external persons or objects.

1

Protected against solid foreign objects larger than 50mm in diameter.

Protected against accidental contact of the human body (e.g. the palm of the hand) with internal parts of the appliance, protected against large-sized foreign objects (diameter larger than 50mm).

2

Protection against solid foreign objects with a diameter greater than 12.5 mm.

Protection against human fingers coming into contact with parts inside the appliance, and protection against medium-sized foreign objects (diameter greater than 12.5 mm).

3

Protection against intrusion by solid foreign objects larger than 2.5mm in diameter.

Protection against intrusion by tools, wires and similar small foreign objects larger than 2.5mm in diameter or thickness that may come into contact with internal parts of the appliance.

4

Protected against solid foreign objects larger than 1.0mm in diameter.

Protected against tools, wires and similar small foreign objects larger than 1.0mm in diameter or thickness that may come into contact with parts inside the appliance.

5

Protection against foreign objects and dust.

Completely protected against foreign objects, although not completely protected against dust intrusion, the amount of dust intrusion will not affect the normal operation of the appliance.

6

Protection against foreign objects and dust.

Completely protected against foreign objects and dust.

The second digit after IP represents the waterproof rating

Number

Range of protection

Description

0

No protection.

No special protection against water or moisture.

1

Protected against ingress of water drops.

Drops of water falling vertically (e.g. condensation) do not cause damage to the appliance.

2

Protection against water droplets even when tilted at 15°.

When the appliance is tilted from vertical to 15°, dripping water will not damage the appliance.

3

Protection from sprayed water.

Rain protection or protection from water sprayed at an angle of less than 60° to the vertical can cause damage to the appliance.

4

Protected against splashing water.

Protected against damage from splashing water from all directions.

5

Protected against water jets.

Protected against low-pressure water jets lasting at least 3 minutes.

6

Protected against immersion in large waves.

Protected against large jets of water lasting at least 3 minutes.

7

Protected against immersion in water when submerged.

Protected against the effects of immersion in water up to 1 metre deep for 30 minutes.

8

Protection against immersion of water during submergence.

Protection against the effects of continuous immersion in water deeper than 1 metre. The exact conditions are specified by the manufacturer for each device.

We are pleased to introduce our electric cleaning brushes with IPX7 waterproof brush heads, and it means that the brush heads of our electric cleaning brushes are protected against the effects of 30 minutes of immersion in water up to 1 metre deep so that our electric cleaning scrubber can be used to clean swimming pools, bathtubs, toilets, etc. In addition, our products will achieve waterproof throughout the whole machine in the near future.

Waterproofing is essential for a nice electric cleaning brush, so why not try our products? And there are many products for you to choose from, such as Long Rod Electric Spin Scrubber, Handheld Electric Spin Scrubber, Power Mop, Wine Chiller, Mini Fridge, etc. Please visit our website to get more information if you want to know more.
